I know what it is like to love God, work hard, carry responsibility, and still realize there are areas of your marriage and home where God is calling you to grow.
For years, I thought I understood leadership because I was responsible. I worked. I provided. I served. I showed up. I carried weight for my family, ministry, students, athletes, and the people God trusted me to lead.
But marriage has a way of revealing what titles and responsibilities cannot hide.
Shirron and I have been married for 23+ years. By God’s grace, we are not just still married - we are close, committed, and still growing together. But that did not happen because I had everything figured out as a husband.
God had to teach me that being a godly man is not the same as simply being a busy man, a responsible man, or a respected man.
A man can lead in public and still need to grow in how he leads at home. He can provide financially and still need to grow in emotional presence. He can know Scripture and still need to grow in patience, humility, gentleness, and self-control.
I had to learn that my wife did not just need my provision. She needed my presence. She needed my prayers. She needed my attention. She needed my leadership to feel less like pressure and more like covering.
God had to deal with my heart, my pride, my silence, my impatience, my assumptions, and my tendency to want to be understood before I took time to understand.
Marriage, fatherhood, ministry, pressure, grief, and responsibility have all shaped me. They have taught me that a godly husband is not a perfect man.
He is a man under authority.
Before he leads his wife, his children, or his home, he lets Christ lead him.
That is what this community is about. It is for the man who knows God is calling him higher - not just as a husband, but as a man of God.
It is for the man who wants to love his wife well, lead his home with wisdom, communicate with maturity, pray with consistency, and become more intentional with the people who matter most.

We teach it because God has used 23+ years of marriage, four children, ministry, busy careers, grief, miscommunication, hard conversations, forgiveness, and intentional growth to teach us what it really takes to become one.
That is why we are helping other Christian couples build marriages rooted in biblical principles, practical skills, and the kind of intentional love that helps them experience God’s best.
